Itaúna is a beach with white sands and crystal clear waters which is considered the "Surf Temple" because is one of the best place in Brasil to practice this sport which will participate for the first time in the 2020 Japan Olympic Games. With 4.000 inhabitants Itaúna is a neighborhood of the Saquarema beach town in the Sun Coast of the charming Lakes Region of Rio de Janeiro, which was famous in the 70s for its hippie style and still keeping the "Rock Temple" from the Brazilian musician Serguei. There is also a great turistic historical the Our Lady of Nazareth Church on a top of a hill with a fantastic litoral view, built in 1837 and having the original saint image found in 1630 by fishermen preserved in a little chapel in the back of the church.

Se visitar a Bahia não deixe de incluir Itacaré no seu roteiro, localizada na costa do Sul, distante 72km de Ilhéus, esta charmosa cidade  fundada em 1732, mas que só em 1931 passou a se chamar Itacaré.

Vá conhecer as praias perto do centro, comece pela Praia da Concha, com muitas barracas com alimentação e música ao vivo, depois vêm as praias de Resende, Tiririca, Costa, e mais distantes estão Ribeira, Siriaco, Prainha, Arruda, Jeribucaçu, Engenhoca (preferida dos surfistas), Hawaizinho, Camboinha, e as imperdíveis Itacarezinho com ótima infraestrutura e esacionamento pago próximo à praia, e Serra Grande distantes 15km e 35km do centro.

4. O QUE VER:
Circule pela Rua Pedro Longo, mais conhecida como RUA PITUBA, a principal do centro, uma mistura de lojas, muitos restaurantes a maioria com música ao vivo, e bares com seus bartenders mostrando suas habilidades nos seus balcões nas calçadas cheios de frutas locais como o cacau que é abundante nesta região. Não deixe de subir até a Ponta do Xareu ao lado da Praia da Concha, para assistir ao pôr-do-sol fazendo parte deste encontro obrigatório dos locais e turistas, agradecendo ao astro rei este visual deslumbrante.

5. ONDE COMER:
Restaurantes maravilhosos como o BECO DAS FLORES, MEDITERRÂNEO para massas,CANTINA D'ITALIA para ótimas pizzas, e o TIO GU para crepes deliciosos, todos localizados na Rua Pituba, mas imperdivel mesmo é o restaurante CAFÉ COM CACAU, km 7, estrada Ilhéus - Itacaré, com pratos para comer rezando preparados pelas mãos de fada da Katarina, que também à tarde serve seu famoso café com cacau e bolo de cacau, lógico, e lá também têm loja vendendo muitos produtos feitos do cacau. If you are visiting Bahia don't miss to include the beach town of Itacaré in your tour. Located in the south coast of Bahia, distant 72km from Ilhéus, this cozy city was founded in 1732 but only called Itacaré n 1931. Take a note of these tips and come to this hospitable people paradise with 28.000 inhabitants, much sought by tourists and surfers from around the world:

1. HOW TO ARRIVE:
By plane arriving in the Ilhéus, Bahia airport, or by car coming from the south by the BR 101 road, which is pretty good now.

2. WHERE TO STAY:
Plenty of good hostels and bed & breakfasts, the Raio de Sol Pousada b&b, 100, Pequi Street, Concha beach, near downtown and "Orla" shore, with breakfast and Wi-Fi included, excellent service by Marcos and Nati, no parking lot but is safe to park in front of the place. Another bed & breakfast which is simpler, but very well located near the restaurants area is Casa Rosa Pousada and Açaí Shop. If you driving from the south by the BR101, and need to make a stop the Imperial Hotel near the road in Eunápolis, Bahia,  is simple but perfect with excelent breakfast, parking lot included, and pets welcomed.

3. WHAT TO DO:
Enjoy the beaches near downtown, begin by the Praia da Concha full of kioskes serving the local appetizers with live music, followed by Resende, Tiririca and Costa beaches, farther are Ribeira, Siriaco, Prainha, Arruda, Jeribucaçu, Engenhoca (the beach surfers), Hawaizinho, Camboinha, and the unmissable Itacarezinho with a paid parking lot in front of the beach, and Serra Grande, both far from downtown 15km and 35km.

4. WHAT TO SEE:
Strolling by the Pedro Longo St, as known as Pituba St, the downtown main street, a mix of stores, restaurants with live music, and bars with the bartenders preparing drinks on their sidewalk counters full of local fruits as cocoa. Don't miss to go up to the Ponta do Xareu besides the Concha beach to watch the sunset making part of this obligatory reunion among local and tourists thanking the king sun for its astonishing view.

5. WHERE TO EAT:
Wonderful restaurants with an excellent gastronomy like the BECO DAS FLORES, MEDITERRÂNEO for pastas, CANTINA D'ITALIA for a good pizza, and TIO GU for a delicious crepe, all of them located on the Pituba St., but the unmissable is the restaurant CAFÉ COM CACAU Km 7, Ilhéus - Itacaré road, serving delicious dishes prepared by the fairy hands of the owner and chef Katarina, who also in the afternoon serves her famous coffee mixed with cocoa and cocoa cake. Try also the craft ice cream made with the cocoa pulp which is yellow, or chocolate made from the cocoa seeds, and never skeep the fabulous local açaí.

Alimentos importados! O que é permitido trazer na sua bagagem!! (Imported foods! What is allowed to bring in your baggage!).

Com as proximidades das ceias de Natal e Ano Novo, quem está chegando de viagem com certeza gostaria de trazer alguma das muitas delicias originárias de outros paises para fazer bonito na sua mesa, mas infelizmente apesar de desde 2016 muitos itens terem sido liberados, preste muita atenção nas exigências, pois é muito comum vermos pessoas decepcionadas vendo suas preciosas e caras iguarias sendo confiscadas pela Vigilância Agropecuária do Ministério da Agricultura (Vigiagro) do Aeroporto Internacional do Galeão.
Anote estas dicas e saiba o que é possível trazer na sua bagagem:

1. QUANTIDADE PERMITIDA:
-  Pode trazer até 10kg de derivados de carne.
- Para os demais produtos alimentícios, liberado 5kg por pessoa.
- Vinhos e demais bebidas alcoólicas, 12 litros por pessoa além de 12 litros que podem ser comprados no free-shop.

2. ALIMENTOS TERMINANTEMENTE PROIBIDOS:
- Qualquer tipo de MEL.
- Nada com OSSO e qualquer carne fresca.
- TÂMARAS com caroço.
- Queijos de muita maturação como o BRIE e CAMEMBERT, ou feitos a partir do leite cru.
- Alimentos crus ou frescos em geral como linguiças, legumes, frutas e também flores.
- FEIJÕES e outros grãos similares.
- BACALHAU sem ser congelado ou salgado, e sem identificação do produtor.

3. ALIMENTOS PERMITIDOS:
- A regra básica é que todos os produtos a seguir deverão ter passado por algum processo industrial para eliminar os riscos sanitários, e todos deverão estar embalados com a devida identificação do produtor, da fabricação, e da validade, e nos idiomas latinos, como português, francês, espanhol entre outros ou anglo-saxão como inglês, alemão, holandês, etc.
- Enlatados ou em conserva como SALMÃO SARDINHA, ATUM ou qualquer PEIXE.
- Queijos como GRANA PADANO, GOUDA, PARMESÃO e QUEIJO DO REINO também permitidos, mas não pode ser fracionado em supermercado mesmo que seja embalado à vácuo, e demais laticinios submetidos ao calor como DOCE DE LEITE ou CREME DE LEITE.
- COGUMELOS e TRUFAS somente em conserva, também seguindo as regras da embalagem.
- PRESUNTOS, SALAMES e demais embutidos somente embalados à vácuo.
- NOZES e semelhantes, somente sem cascas.

At the coming of Xmas and New Year's Eve celebrations, and if you are visiting family or friends in Brazil, and wish to bring some food from your country, remind yourself that even with the Agricultural Monitoring (Vigiagro of the Galeão International Airport) allowing some items, we still seen some frustated tourists when they have their precious and expensive foods been confiscated.
Take a note of those tips to know what is possible to bring in your baggage:

1. ALLOWED QUANTITIES:
- You can bring up to 10kg of meat and
 its varieties.
- For the other foods is allowed to bring 5kg per person.
- Wines and other alcoholics beverages 12 liters per person, plus another 12 liters bought in the Free shop

2. FORBIDDEN FOODS:
- Any kind of honey.
- Nothing with bone and any kind of fresh meat.
- Dates with stones.
- Soft cheeses as BRIE and CAMEMBERT, or anyone made with crude milk.
- Fresh food as sausages, vegetables, fruits and also flowers.
- Beans and similar grains.
- No frozen or salty Cod fish, and without the producer identification.

3. ALLOWED FOODS:
- The basic regulations for all the following products must be made in some industrial process to eliminate any risks to the health care, and all of them should come with a producer identification, an expire date and a tag wrote in Latin languages as Spanish, French and others or Anglo-Saxon as English, German, etc.
- Canned foods as Tuna, Salmon, Sardines or another kind of fish.
- Cheese as Grana, Padano, Gouda, Parmesan are allowed, but can not be cut in supermarkets even if are vacuum packed.
- Mushrooms or truffles  only canned.
- Ham, salamis and others only vacuum packed.
- Nuts and similars only peeled.

The beach town of Cabo Frio isn't so glamorous and famous as its neighbor Buzios, distant 25km, but has beautiful beaches and a enviable historical heritage, the largest in the Rio de Janeiro's Region of the Lakes. With 216.000 inhabitants was founded in 1615, distant 152km from Rio, this place enchanted tourists, most of them from the near states of Minas Gerais and Espirito Santo, and also many foreigners.

1. WHERE TO STAY;

3. WHAT TO SEE:
Begin the historic city tour strolling among the cannons in this interesting architecting set of SÃO MATEUS FORT, built between 1616 and 1620, open daily from 9am to 5pm, free; or go ahead for one of the Brazil's most beautiful colonial architecture, the OUR LADY OF ANGELS CONVENT, inaugurated in 1616, pay attention on the chapel's ceiling paints and on the side panels, and also there visit the Religious Art Museum, open Tuesday to Friday from 10am to 5pm, Saturday from 2pm to 6pm, free;  and for the visual arts the seventh century building of the JOSÉ DOME HOUSE OF CULTURE, 855, Teixeira e Souza Ave., Charitas, houses artworks from this artist, open daily from 8am to 8pm;  another good one is the SCLIAR HOUSE, 253, Marechal Floriano St, Downtown, with this artist collection and artworks of the  Brazilians Di Cavalcanti and Glauco Rodrigues among others, open Wednesday to Friday from 3pm to 7pm, Saturday from 3pm to 6pm.

4. WHAT TO BUY:
If you are looking for BIKINIS, the Bikini Street, Gamboa, is an obligation to visit, there you'll match swimming suits pieces with wholesale price.

5. WHERE TO EAT:
In a city that fish and seafood is the main dish, you'll find lots of restaurants serving these delicacy, and the best destination is the Itajuru Canal, full of excellent restaurants inside the colonial houses, like the MAJÁRA DO CANAL, 100, Travessa Maçônica, a branch from Porto, Portugal, besides the cod fish and the seafood, also there serves a so melting meat fillet cut by spoon. Neste prédio de 17 andares recheado de exposições não deixe de ir até o último andar, onde está o café, e também literalmente planar acima desta avenida no MIRANTE passarela, aonde você terá uma vista de tirar o fôlego e belas fotos. SHOPPING PÁTIO PAULISTA, 13 de Maio St and Paulista Ave. There you can park your car, have a meal in the good Food Court, or have a coffee in the excellent OFNER Cafe on the ground floor, and when  you come back to take your car, stop in the "happy hour" of the very good BRAUNGARTER  restaurant, serving German food, with live music and handcrafted draft beer for whom is not driving.

2. JAPAN HOUSE, 52  Paulista Ave., Bela Vista. Leaving the shopping just cross the street in direction at this spectacular house, the first to be opened in the world, the global initiative of the Japanese government, the aim for it is to be a living center of activities and information about present-day Japan. This house covers 3 floors and unveils multiple views of this country. On the ground floor houses a multimedia area/library with an outside garden, a cafe serving Japanese sweets and teas. Now until January, 6th, 2019 is  showing the unmissable exhibition for the fashion and technology fans. Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 10pm. Sundays and Holidays from 10am to 6pm. Free.

3. HOUSE OF ROSES, 37, Paulista Av. It's impossible don't stop in this amazing garden of the Haroldo Campos Poetry and Literature Space, to feel the scent of these huge and beautiful roses growing in this jungle of stones.

4. SESC, 119, Paulista. Ave. In this building of 17 floors stuffed of artworks exhibitions, don't miss to go up to the top where is a Coffee Shop and a footbridge GAZEBO with a breathtaking view to take nice pictures. Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 10pm. Sundays and Holidays from 10am to 7pm. Free.

5. SÃO PAULO ARTE MUSEUM, 1578, Paulista Ave. To finish this wonderful walk, it's impossible don't visit the MASP, this fabulous building built in 1947, with a big space of 70 meters susteined by 4 cornerstones, housing important artworks of Reinoir, Dega and a portrait of Madame Cézanne by her husband, and others. Among the local events the COD FISH FESTIVAL in November, in a theme Cod Fish Village with several restaurants, is the city biggest in gastronomy, with many shows and attractions.
