Para pegar a barca, de metrô descendo na Estação Carioca ou de VLT até as barcas na Praça XV, de carro só no estacionamento  pago, deixar nas ruas do centro do Rio é reboque certo, se quiser pode levar sua bicicleta na barca, a primeira saída é às 5:30h em dias úteis, e finais de semana e feriados às 4:30h, atenção aos horários da volta, para não ter que dormir na Ilha, que não será nenhum problema, pois dizem que por lá têm ótimas pousadas que são chamadas de "cama e café". Adorei!

2. O QUE FAZER:
Pode caminhar,, alugar bicicleta, quadriciclo ou charrete elétrica que estão disponíveis logo na saída das barcas para circular os 8km desta ilha que têm como lema ..."que ilha você levaria para uma pessoa deserta".. também têm canoas e pedalinhos, se estiver com seu amor vá até a Pedra dos Namorados na Praia José Bonifácio onde também está a Casa José Bonifácio, Patriarca Brasileiro, casa que foi seu refúgio por 7 anos, visite a Capela de São Roque, fundada em 1697, na praça com o mesmo nome do padroeiro da ilha, vá até o Cais onde está o Relógio da Mesbla na Praia dos Tamoios para fazer belas selfies; e se tiver tempo admire o pôr-do-sol na Pedra da Moreninha.

3. ONDE COMER:
Se quiser comida a peso o ZECA'S, Praça Bom Jesus 12 é uma ótima pedida, a partir das 11h; se der para pagar um pouco mais, um lugar bacana com menu é a CASINHA AMARELA, Praça de São Roque, 25, sábados e domingos das 12:30h às 18h; e para um delicioso chocolate feito na hora e que já deve ter panetones para o Natal vá para a CONFEITARIA BODEGA PAQUETÁ, Rua Pinheiro Freire, 59, terça a domingo, das 13h às 18h.

1. HOW TO ARRIVE:
You can arrive in the Praça XV square, Boat Station, by subway getting off in the Carioca Station, or by VLT tram leaving you right there in the boats, by car only leaving it in a paid parking lot, avoiding towing, also you can carry your bike in the boat, the first boat leaves at 5:30am on the weekdays and at 4:30am on the weekends and holidays, but pay attention at the boat time to be back, if you don't wanna to sleep in the island which wasn't bad, there are some good bed & breakfast, just called there "cama e café", bed & coffee".

2. WHAT TO DO:
You can walk, rent a bike, quadrycicle or a eletric buggy that are available right there on the boat exit to enjoy the 8km island extension, also has boats and pedal boats, and if you are with your lover go to the romantic Pedra dos Namorados (Lover Stone) in the José Bonifácio Beach, where is the house of José Bonifácio a Brazilian Patriarch that lived there for 7 years; visit the Saint Roque Chapel, founded in 1697 in the same name square; and don't miss to go to the docks of the Tamoios Beach to make selfies with the Mesbla Clock; and if you have time admire the sunset from the Pedra da Moreninha stone.

3. WHERE TO EAT:
If you wanna food by weight, ZECA'S is the right restaurant, opened at 11am; with menu in a cool place, but a little bit expensive is CASINHA AMARELA, Saturdays and Sundays from 12:30 to 6pm; and for a fresh delicious chocolate go to the CONFEITARIA BODEGA PAQUETÁ bakery, Tuesday to Sunday from 1pm to 6pm.

6. DE MESTRE PARA VENEZA:
Pode pegar ônibus ou tram, trenzinho tipo VLT, a passagem de ida e volta é vendida na recepção do hotel, pega e desce bem próximo do hotel na estação San Marco-Mussati, leva 10 minutos até "Venezia Piazza de Roma", quando chegar se informe o último horário para não ficar em Veneza e dormir em uma gôndola, se der, eu bem que gostaria.

You can take bus or tram in the San Marcos-Mussati station close to that hotel in Mestre,  tickets are available in the hotel reception, taking 10 minutes to the Venice "Roma Square", when arriving ask for the last trip back, for don't stay in Venice sleeping in a gondola, if be possible, I wish to do that.

Ilha Fiscal, Rio de Janeiro!! O último Baile Imperial! (Fiscal Island, RJ, Brazil! The last Imperial Ball!).

Neste feriado de15 de novembro, vamos comemorar 130 anos da Proclamação da República, e para quem não sabe foi na  Ilha Fiscal no centro do Rio de Janeiro, então Capital do Império que este palacete chamado de "jóia dentro de um delicado estojo' por Dom Pedro II  (1825-1891), por ser rodeado por belas paisagens, que aconteceu o último baile dado pela Família Imperial, gastando 10% das verbas do governo para testar a sua popularidade, mas nada adiantou pois 6 dias depois a realeza era expulsa do país.
Anote estas dicas e volte ao tempo para saber a história do palacete e do seu memorável baile:

1. COMO CHEGAR:
Na Praça XV, centro, compre ingresso no Espaço Cultural da Marinha, saídas de quinta a domingo às 12:30h, 14h e 15:30h , a travessia de barco não leva mais que 10 minutos e o passeio completo demora por volta de 2 horas, com visita guiada na ilha. Ingressos R$36.

2. O PALACETE:
Começou a ser construído na Bahia da Guanabara em 1881, projeto do engenheiro Adolpho José del Vechio, cheio de belos e ricos detalhes pois eram artistas que executavam o minucioso trabalho, foi inaugurado em 27 de abril de 1889 para agilizar o serviço marítimo da alfândega, o prédio em estilo gótico provençal ocupa 1.000 metros quadrados da ilha, com belos vitrais ingleses e pisos de parquet, na torre um relógio com os números romanos como eram escritos  antes de 1900, o 4 era IIII como os relógios Cartier e não IV, então quando ver outro assim, não está errado só está na forma original.

3. O ÚLTIMO BAILE:
Realizou-se no sábado 9 de novembro de 1889  em homenagem aos oficiais do navio chileno "Almirante Cochrane" mas o motivo real era as bodas de prata da Princesa Isabel e do Conde d'Eu, um requinte incomum, o palacete foi todo decorado com milhares de flores e iluminado com a novidade da época, luz elétrica nas 700 lâmpadas e mais 10.000 lanternas venezianas e muitas velas para receber os 2.000 convidados, dizem que naquela noite era o lugar mais iluminado do mundo.

4. O BUFFET:
Não era da Colombo, mas sim da Confeitaria Paschoal a preferida de D. Pedro II, foi servido cardápio francês nas 2 mesas do jardim em forma de ferradura com toalhas de linho, talheres de prata, e à frente de cada prato 9 copos de cristais para as mais diversas bebidas, os vinhos eram os melhores portugueses lógico, tudo no mais perfeito exagero, só de sorvete, "gelato de frutas" uma das sobremesas, foram preparadas 12.000 porções.

5. OS MODELITOS:
Tudo no estilo gala com os homens requintados e as mulheres brilhando com suas jóias, pois naquela época era possível, mas quem arrasou no modelito foi a Princesa Isabel (1846-1921), com um pretinho "não" básico, pois o corset alto era todo bordado, acreditem, em ouro.

6. BANHEIROS:
Havia luz elétrica mas não haviam banheiros para as necessidades da realeza, então  poltronas requintadas mas com um buraco no assento com urinois de prata cheio de areia embaixo, imaginem isto numa festa que durou até às 6h da manhã, pobre das águas da bahia.

7. O QUADRO:
Lá você poderá apreciar a réplica da imensa tela de Francisco Figueiredo (1856-1916), O Último Baile do Império Brasileiro, registrando este episódio histórico que foi a transição do Império para a República.

Ilha Fiscal! Um baile inacreditável!

On this November 15th we will celebrate 130 years of our Proclamation of the Republic, and in the  Fiscal Island in downtown of Rio de Janeiro, considered by Dom Pedro II (1825-1891), a "jewel inside of a delicate case", because of the beautiful landscapes surrounded the island, and there happened the last gala ball of the Imperial Family, spending 10% of the government budget to make sure of its popularity, but 6 days later the Imperial Family was expelled out of the country.
Take a note of these tips to go back in time and know more of this  palace's history, and its memorable ball:

1. HOW TO ARRIVE:
Buy the boat ticket in the Espaço Cultural da Marinha, Praça XV square, downtown,  leaving on Thursday to Sunday at 12:3O, 2pm and 3:30pm, the boat don't take more than 10 minutes and the whole tour about 2 hours with guided tour in the island.

2. THE PALACE:
Started to be built in Guanabara Bay in 1881, a project by the engineer Adolpho José del Velchio full of beautiful details made for artists, and was inaugurated on April 27 1889, to faster the maritime customs, the building in a Provencal ghotic style occupying 1.000 square meters of the island with gorgeous stained glasses, and a tower with the original Romans numbers that were used before the 1900s.

3. THE LAST GALA BALL:
Happened on Saturday, November 9th, 1889 in honor of the Chilean ship Almirante Cochrane, but the real reason was the silver wedding of the Princess Isabel and Conte d"Eu, the palace was decorated with lots of flowers and 700 lamps of electricity, 10.000 Veneziam lamps, and candles to greeting its 2.000 guests.

4. THE BUFFET:
Made by Paschoal Bakery serving a French menu in 2 tables in a shape of a horseshoe, linen tablecloths, and 9 glasses in front of eat dish, and 12.000 portions of  "fruits gelato"  icecream, one of the many deserts.

5. THE OUTFITS:
The men very elegant  in blacktie and all the women shining with its jewels, but the most chic was Princess Isabel (1846-1921), in a luxury black dress, with a corset  embroidered in gold.

6. THE BATHROOMS:
There is electricity but not bathrooms, so the solution was adorned couches with a hole in the middle and silver orinols under it.

7. THE PAINTING:
A huge painting "The Last Brazilian Imperial Ball" on canvas by Francisco Figueiredo (1856-1916), shows this historical episode which was the  transition of the Imperial to the Republican regime.
