Evite táxis de rua, além de caros têm muitas reclamações, já o UBER no aplicativo e metrô funcionam bem. Você desembarcou numa cidade grande, então, cuidado com seus pertences.

Santiago with 5 million inhabitants in the metropolitan region is  the capital of Chile, the longest and thinest country in the world, which runs from the Andes to the Pacific.
As with all cities founded by the Spaniards in the 16th century, Santiago was laid around the Plaza de Armas (Central Square), as a grid plan which can still be seen today in the downtown's Historical Center.
Take a note of the following tips, to be enchanted in this cultural historical city, cheered with the tasty Chilean's wine:

1. ARRIVING IN THE AIRPORT:
If you don't have the country currency, Chilean's peso, (600 pesos=1U$), change a little amount for little expenses in the airport, because some locals accept only the local currency (efectivo).
To get in your destination the buses are cheaper and safe. Buy your ticket in the CENTROPUERTO's airport booth, the buses leaving each 10 minutes, with many stops until the city's downtown, working from 6am to 11:30pm. Avoid street cabs, besides so expensive there are many complaints about it. UBER and subway work well. You arrived in a big city, be careful with your belongs.

2. WHERE TO STAY:
PLAZA SAN FRANCISCO HOTEL (Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins Ave., 816). Located in the heart of Santiago, in the Historical Center, the hotel offers very good  service, and the delicious  breakfast is included, plus the culinary excellence from the award-winning Restaurant Bristol.

Similar to the American's outlets, is a leading destination for Chileans and tourists,  with more than 40 stores, including Nike among others famous brands. To arrive in Quilicura, the outskirts of Santiago, is cheaper and faster taking an UBER from Costanera Mall. Avoid to go there in the rush hours. Open Monday to Sunday from 10am to 8pm.

- WHERE TO EAT AND DRINK:
It's better to take your own drink and snacks to cheer at midnight, besides the expensive prices, the restaurants will be close to parties needing previous reservations.

Located on the km 56, BR 040 road of Itaipava in Petrópolis city. In Madrid take the high speed train RENFE AVE in the Atocha Station, which takes 2:30h to complete the 531km of distance between Madrid and Seville.

2. WHAT TO DO:
Walking on, or by chariots is the best way to know the city's downtown, since motor vehicles are not allowed there. Admiring the houses with ceramic bricks on its façades, and also the peculiar balconies with iron grids painted in black. Strolling in this narrow urbanism you'll see the labyrint-like streets, and take care when walk on the so narrow path of the called Kiss Street (Calle del Beso).

3. WHAT TO VISIT:
-CATHEDRAL AND LA GIRALDA TOWER:
La Giralda was built as a minaret for the mosque between 1184 and 1198, with 76 meters high, crowned with 4 large golden balls, which were said to be seen for more than 40km away. In 1568 the church authorities decided to build a new top for the Christian symbol.
-EL ALCAZAR PALACE:

O QUE FAZER: Obrigatório é a visita ao PARQUE NACIONAL DO CAPARAÓ, neste lugar abençoado pela natureza e coberto pela Mata Atlântica, além de abrigar o PICO DA BANDEIRA (2.891m), o terceiro maior pico do Brasil e mais 6 picos, também abriga a Pedra Roxa (2.064m), e a Pedra Menina (2.037m), e muitas cachoeiras. Possui 2 entradas, uma  pelo Alto Caparaó, Minas Gerais, e a outra pela Pedra Menina,Espírito Santo. A trilha para o pico é de 4,4km, com trechos íngremes e temperaturas baixas. Castelo de Windsor, Inglaterra! A casa favorita da rainha! (Windsor Castle, England! The Queen's favorite house!).

O Castelo de Windsor é o maior e mais antigo  castelo do mundo a ser ocupado até hoje. Localizado 35km ao oeste de Londres, no condado de Berkshire, na pequena cidade de Windsor com 30.000 habitantes. O castelo é uma das residências oficiais da Sua Majestade a Rainha Elizabeth II de 91 anos, que reina no Reino Unido por mais de seis décadas, desfrutando de um nível de popularidade que causa inveja em muitos politicos, e já ultrapassou a Rainha Victoria (1819-1901), que governou por 63 anos. The unbelievable Inhotim, the world's largest open air museum, located in Brumadinho, Minas Gerais state in the middle of the southeast Brazilian nowhere, is an obligation to visit. Curitiba/Morretes! Não perca este trem! (Curitiba/Morretes, Brazil! Don't miss this train!).

Se estiver visitando  Curitiba capital do Paraná, embarque no próximo trem para Morretes, e se deslumbre  com a Serra do Mar e a beleza da Mata Atlântica, neste passeio que foi eleito um dos melhores de trem no mundo, e é o  segundo mais procurado pelos turistas no estado, só perdendo para as cataratas de Foz do Iguaçu.
Pegue estas dicas para não perder este trem:

1. COMO CHEGAR:
Compre a passagem na Rodoferroviária (Av.Pres. Affonso Camargo), na região central de Curitiba, feita somente pela Serra Verde Express, com saída diária no único horário de 8:15h, em cabines simples, com banheiro e lanchinho, e duração de pouco mais de 3 horas. Procure sentar no lado esquerdo, para ter visão completa e privilegiada, e sensação de estar flutuando na  "descida" de uma altitude de 945 metros acima do nível do mar, nesta ferrovia de 110km de trilhos, inaugurada em 1885, que cruza 13 túneis e algumas pontes. Nos finais de semana têm opção do trem de luxo, com horário, assentos, lanchinhos e preço diferente, óbvio.
Em Morretes o único horário do trem para Curitiba é às 15:00h, mas não compensa esta  volta no mesmo trajeto, pois fica cansativa, já que a distância entre os lugares é de 70km, que pode ser feita através dos ônibus da Viação Graciosa. Se puder pagar mais pelo conforto, em Curitiba, compre nas agências de turismo o pacote completo, que inclui traslado do hotel, passagem no trem,  almoço com o famoso "barreado" em Morretes,  e a volta em vans, com trajeto pela Estrada da Graciosa, que com muitas hortênsias pelo caminho, honra o nome, e ainda faz uma parada na vizinha cidade histórica de Antonina.

2. O QUE FAZER:
Ande vagarosamente pelas ruas de pedra da histórica Morretes, esta gracinha  de lugar com 16.000 habitantes, fundada em 1721, apreciando as casas coloniais e as  muitas lojinhas locais.

3. ONDE COMER:
No Restaurante Madalozo, no centro de Morretes, entre muitas  opções de restaurantes, é obrigação provar o "barreado", prato típico local, feito com carne cozida lentamente na panela de barro e farinha de mandioca, servido com banana e outras guarnições. Mas por favor não se assuste quando o garçom virar o prato com esta iguaria acima da sua cabeça, para testar a  consistência, entre na brincadeira, e reze para que nunca caia.

Curitiba/Morretes! Embarque neste trem!

If you are visiting Curitiba, capital of the Paraná's state, don't miss  this amazing trip to Morretes by train, crossing the scenic beauty of the Serra do Mar (Sea Mountain), and  going nside of the Mata Atlântica (Atlantic Forest). Considered one of the best trip by train in the world, it's also the second most wanted tour in this state after the  Iguaçu Falls.
Take these tips, and don't miss this train:

1. HOW TO ARRIVE:
Buy your train's ticket to  Morretes in the Rodoferroviária (Bus/Train Station), located in Curitiba's downtown region. The economic class train with bathroom, and snacks service leaves daily at 8:15 a.m., by Serra do Mar Express company only, and the trip takes a little more than 3 hours. Try to seat on the left side to get a complete view of the mountains, and feel like you are floating when the train "going down" by the mountains in an altitude of 945 meters above the sea level, crossing 13 tunnels and some bridges, with 110km of railways, built in 1885.
Deluxe Train is also available at the weekends.
From Morretes to Curitiba the train leaves  daily at 3p.m., but worth to come back by Viação Graciosa buses, because the distance between the  cities is 70km, and be back in the same train route is so boring.
If you want more confort, in Curitiba, buy a complete tour at the Tourism Agencies, more expensive, but it included   transportation to your hotel, train ticket, lunch in Morretes serving "barreado", and trucks to take you back to Curitiba by "Estrada da Graciosa", a beautiful road with hydrangeas on its path, making also a stop in a pretty historic neighbor  city of Antonina.

In that gorgeous and bucolic  city of Morretes founded in 1721, with 16.000 inhabitants, strolling slowly by the stones paved streets admiring the colonial houses and the local little stores.

3. WHERE TO EAT:
In Morretes, Madalozo Restaurant is a good choice, among many others restaurants serving  the local dish "barreado" prepared with meat and yucca flour, and cooked slowly in a clay pan, served with bananas and other side dishes. But please don't be scared when the waiter turn down the plate over your head, showing the consistency of the "barreado", be part of the joke praying for it never falls in somebody's head. After that unique meal experience, if you aren't full, try one of the many flavors of the delicious local ice creams sold in the city's ice creams shops.
