This touristic beach city has lots of good hotels, but if you plan to spend holidays there, like New Year's Eve, which is considered the second best "Reveillon" party in Brazil, receiving about 4 millions tourists, once posted on this blog, you should booked in advance.

2. WHAT TO DO:
Get a suntan on the Atlântica Ave shore from  Barra Sul to Barra Norte, having in between the Praia Central beach, and also the Tamandaré Square located in front of the Mercure Hotel, where nice shows and events happens. If you get bored to stay on this shore, take the UNIPRAIAS cable car in Praia Central to the enchanted Praia das Laranjeiras beach, but also you can access there by the LAP road, known as "Interpraias" road. Strolling by the shore's deck, which soon houses the BC PORT to receive the magnificent cruises bringing millions of tourists. Visit the just opened CENTRO DE EVENTOS (Events Center), with 33.000 square meters is considered the biggest in the south region of Brazil.

Balneário Camboriú! A flawless tourism!

Empire State, Nova York! Um espetáculo de tirar o fôlego! (Empire State Building, NYC! A breathtaking spectacle!).

Entre tantas atrações imperdíveis em Nova York, conhecida como "A grande maçã" (The Big Apple), e por ser um dos destinos mais cobiçados do mundo, não têm como não subir no imponente Empire State, na 5a. Av. com a Rua 34 (Fifth Ave at 34th St), bem no coração de Manhattan, nesta mega cidade de 8.500.000 habitantea. Suba neste arranha-céu de 86 andares e 1860 degraus, que King-Kong imortalizou quando agarrado ao topo da torre deixou a mocinha do filme de 1933, a atriz Fay Wray em pânico, numa época que não existiam efeitos especiais tão usados nos pós King-Kongs. Construido em 1930, o prédio foi um projeto ousado do arquiteto William Lamb, no lugar em que estava o  luxuoso Hotel Waldorf-Astoria, só sendo aberto ao público em maio de 1931.
Anote estas dicas para localizar facilmente os pontos principais de Nova York quando estiver no topo da torre:

1. COMO CHEGAR:
Bem localizado é muito fácil chegar, tanto para quem estiver hospedado em Manhatan nesta área de muitos hotéis, que é só seguir as ruas numeradas que são curtas,  já as avenidas são longas com números ou nomes, e muitas linhas de metrô disponíveis com estações próximas para quem estiver em outros bairros. 2. MELHOR HORÁRIO:
Suba ao entardecer, quando será possivel ver a iluminação deste labirinto de prédios que compõe esta mega metrópole. A torre está aberta diariamente das 8:00h até às 2:00h da madrugada, com última venda de ingressos no Visitors Center no segundo andar até à 1:15h. As filas são enormes por conta do sistema de segurança, mas só vale pagar o ingresso se o tempo estiver bom.

3. O QUE AVISTAR DA TORRE:
No Observatório do 86o. andar no lado OESTE está o Madison Square Garden e também a paisagem do estado de New Jersey separado pelo rio Hudson River. No lado SUL a Estátua da Liberdade, a ilha Ellis Island e as pontes Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges. Ao NORTE, o Plaza Hotel, Central Park, e a magnifica ponte George Washington Bridge deixando o rio Hudson River fluir aos seus pés. E ao LESTE, o bairro Queens Borough, as pontes Triboro, Whitestone e a Throgs Neck Bridges que dão acesso aos aeroportos, o local LaGuardia e ao Internacional JFK. Também pode subir no Observatório do 102o. andar para visitar a sala de espera de passageiros da Airship Passenger Waiting Room, onde operava um heliporto.

4. ONDE COMER:
Para quem quiser ficar na torre horas à fio, apreciando esta cidade indescritível, têm o State Grill Bar, aberto até às 22:00h.

5. PARA OS "LOUCOS
POR COMPRAS":
Nova York é a cidade perfeita para compras, como o Empire State está localizado no Garment District, ou seja no distrito das lojas, e lá na Rua 34 com Broadway está a famosa loja de departamentos Macy's que infelizmente por conta do comércio online está fechando várias lojas, mas a Macy's Herald Square que se estabeleceu por lá em 1902, continua firme e forte com a sua primeira escada rolante OTIS de madeira, lenta e barulhenta, mas em pleno funcionamento. Vá correndo conferir antes que ela vire peça de museu. Aberta até às 22:00h.

Empire State Building! Têm que subir!

Among many attractions in New York City, known as "The Big Apple", which is also one of the most wanted place to be visited, is an obligation to climb up the majestic Empire State Bulding,  Fifth Ave at 34th St,  located in the heart of Manhattan in this huge city with 8.500.000 inhabitants. The  skyscraper with 1860 steps, was immortalized by  King-Kong in the 1933 movie when on the 86th floor he held the tower leaving the actress Fay Wray so scared, without any special effects used in the next King-Kongs movies. Built in 1930 in a daring project by the architect William Lamb to replace the luxurious Waldorf-Astoria Hotel building, but was open for the public in May, 1931 only.
Take a note of these tips, to find easily the NYC's main sights, when you are on the tower's top:

1. HOW TO ARRIVE:
Very well located is so easy to get there, even if you stay in a Manhatan hotel, or in another borough, the local is plenty of  subways lines with near stations available. (See map).

2. BEST TIME TO VISIT:
Is good to climb up the tower to watch the sunset and also the lights on giving to the  skyscrapers and spetacle view. The tower is open daily from 8am to 2am, with the last tickets selling at 1:15am. The lines are so big because of the security sistem, and worth pay to climb if the weather is good.

3. WHAT TO SEE FROM THE TOWER'S TOP:
In the Observatory on the 86th floor in the WEST side is the Madison Square Garden, and also the landscapes of New Jersey separated by the Hudson River. To the SOUTH the Great Lady herself, the Statue of Liberty and the adjoining Ellis Island, to the lower left Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges. In the NORTH is the Plaza Hotel, Central Park and the Hudson River flows beneath under the magnificent George Washington Bridge. In the EAST lies  the Borough of Queens, and the Triboro Bridge, Whitestone and the Throgs Neck Bridges which access the local airport of LaGuardia and JFK International Airport. Also you can climb up to the 102th floor to visit the Passangers Waiting Room where in the past worked a heliport.

4. WHERE TO EAT:
If you can stay long time on the tower, watching this indescribable city, there is the State Grill Bar, open till 10pm.

5. SHOPPING AROUND:
In this neighborhood around the Empire State is located the Garment District full of stores, and on the 34th St and Broadway is the famous Macy's Department Store which unfortunatelly is closing many stores in the US because of the online business, but the Macy's Herald Square that was established there since 1902, still strong with its first OTIS wood escalator slowly and noisy, but perfectly working. Go there to check it  before become a museum piece. Close at 9pm.

Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais! Histórias que valem ouro! (Ouro Preto, Brazil! Histories plenty of gold!).

Ouro Preto, é um destino perfeito para quem quer conhecer um municipio histórico do Ciclo do Ouro. Distante 399km do Rio de Janeiro, com 76.000 habitantes  abrangendo 13 distritos. Foi fundada em 1711, e considerada Patrimônio Mundial pela UNESCO em 1980.
Anote estas dicas e se encante com este lugar de muitas ladeiras e muitas histórias:

1. ONDE FICAR: 
Ouro Preto, têm boas pousadas e hostels, e para quem for de avião pode se hospedar na capital Belo Horizonte, distante  97km com ótimos hotéis.

2. O QUE FAZER:
Coloque seus tênis ou sapatilhas e vá subir e descer as ladeiras de Ouro Preto, fazendo parte deste cenário histórico composto por ruas e calçadas revestidas de pedras, magníficas casas coloniais, museus, inúmeras igrejas, e as minúsculas capelas conhecidas como "Passinho", que só costumam abrir na Sexta-feira Santa.

3. O QUE VER:
- IGREJA DE SÃO FRANCISCO DE ASSIS: Entre tantas belas igrejas, esta têm que ser visitada, em estilo barroco e com elementos rococó foi projetada pelo arquiteto e famoso escultor do século XVIII, Antonio Francisco Lisboa,(1730-1814), conhecido como ALEIJADINHO, por causa da suposta doença Hanseníase manifestada aos 40 anos, mas que não impediu o seu magnífico trabalho de escultor, pedindo para que amarrassem as  ferramentas no seus braços. Também têm trabalhos de Mestre Ataíde, maior nome da pintura colonial brasileira.
- MUSEU DA INCONFIDÊNCIA, Praça Tiradentes, 139 - Centro: Com mais de 4000 objetos retratando a nossa história entre os seculos XVIII e XIX.

4. O QUE COMPRAR:
Uma vez rota do Ciclo do Ouro, é o lugar mais que perfeito para se comprar pedras brasileiras preciosas ou semi,  especialmente o Topázio Imperial, sendo Ouro Preto o único produtor mundial desta raridade, considerado o mais valioso entre os diversos tipos de topázio. Com muitos ateliês com essas preciosades espalhadas pelas ruas onde artesãos se esmeram transformando pedra sabão, metais e pedras preciosas ou semi em relíquias. Entre, admire e negocie, pois será muito dificil sair de lá sem um valioso souvenir.

5. ONDE COMER:
Como a comida mineira dispensa qualquer comentário, e se estiver de dieta por favor mude seu roteiro, pois tudo que é servido por lá é muito bom, o Restaurante Tiradentes, Rua Amália Bernhaus, 25 Centro (self-service), é uma ótima pedida. Abre às 11:00h.

Ouro Preto! Vale ouro!

Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais is a perfect destination for whose that wants to know more about a historical borough from the Gold Era in Brazil. Distant 399km from Rio de Janeiro, with 76.000 inhabitants covering 13 counties, was founded in 1711, and became a World Heritage by UNESCO in 1980.
Take the following tips, and be enchanted with this place full of slopes and history:

1. WHERE TO STAY:
You can find there good options in bed&breakfast and hostels, but if you will arrive by plane you can stay in the capital Belo Horizonte, distant 97km from Ouro Preto, which houses excellent hotels.

2. WHAT TO DO:
Wearing sneakers or flat shoes to stroll the many up and downs slopes,  making part of this historical scenery with streets and sidewalks paved with stones, colonial houses, museums, lots of churches, and the little chapels known as"Passinho" that use to be open only on the Good Friday holiday.

3. WHAT TO SEE:
- SÃO FRANCISCO DE ASSIS CHURCH:
Among beautiful  churches you should visit this one, with Barroque style and Rococo elements, which was projected by the architect and famous sculptor from the eighteenth century, Antonio Francisco Lisboa (1730-1814) known as ALEIJADINHO, because of his supposed leprosy disease that affected him when he was 40, but asking to tie up the tools on his arms he never stopped to sculpt.
- INCONFIDÊNCIA MUSEUM, 139 Tiradentes Square - Downtown. Showing more than 4.000 pieces from the Brazilian history between the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.

4. WHAT TO BUY:
Belonged to the Gold Era in the past, this is a perfect place to buy Brazilian precious or semi-precious stones,  especially the Imperial Topaz, the only place in the world manufacturing this rare and the most valuable stone among the other types of the topaz stones. With many stones stores spread by the streets where the jewel artworks giving their best transforming soap stone, metals and precious and semi precious stones in relics. Go inside to browse, but will be so difficult to go out wirhout this valuable souvenir.

5. WHERE TO EAT:
The delicious food from Minas Gerais which we called "Mineira food" "comida mineira, don't need any comments, but if you are on diet, don't go there please, because any dish that is served there is so delicious. Plenty of excellent places, the Tiradentes Restaurant, 25 Amáia Bernhaus Street - Downtown, is a good choice. Self-service, open at 11am.

Ouro Preto! The real meaning of gold!
