Capitólio é uma pequena cidade diferente no estado de Minas Gerais, com 9.000 habitantes não carrega história como Tiradentes ou Ouro Preto, e está longe de ser uma cidade moderna, mas está recheada de verdes encantos  revelando aos seus visitantes o mundo dos belíssimos canyons, natureza pouco conhecida no Brasil. Distante 281km da capital Belo Horizonte, 454km de São Paulo e 638km do Rio de Janeiro ela é a porta de entrada para a Serra da Canastra distante 86km, que vai estar na próxima  postagem deste blog.
Anote estas dicas e vá se deslumbrar neste paraíso de cachoeiras, mirantes, canyons e lagoas:

1. QUANDO VISITAR:
A melhor estação é o verão, mesmo havendo períodos de chuva, pois nas outras estações já é frio e as águas ficam muito geladas.

2. COMO CHEGAR:
De avião até Belo Horizonte; de ônibus têm direto vindo de São Paulo para o pequeno terminal rodoviário no centro de Capitólio; ou vindo de outras cidades até Belo Horizonte, mas o ideal é ir de carro, de preferência 4x4, pois alguns acessos para os passeios são apropriados para estes veículos, e a viagem fica bem mais em conta.

3. ONDE FICAR:
Em termos de hospedagem não é um destino barato, a cidade dispõe de hotéis, pousadas rústicas, resorts e muitas áreas de camping. O HOTEL MINASTUR, Rua Cel. Lourenço Belo, 645, Centro, têm ótimo atendimento, café da manhã, estacionamento, WIFI e é perfeito para se deslocar na pequena cidade, próximo à rodoviária, lagoa artificial e restaurantes.

4. O QUE FAZER:
- LAGOA ARTIFICIAL, no centro, é ideal para ver o pôr-do-sol e andar pela feirinha com produtos do local, também têm uma Central de Turismo para informações.
- MIRANTE DOS CANYONS, logo após a Ponte do Rio Turvo. Visita obrigatória para ver do alto os majestosos canyons de até 20 metros de altura. Das 8h às 17h. R$ 20,00.
- PASSEIO DE LANCHA, é imperdível e a melhor atração de Capitólio, a saída é na Ponte do Rio Turvo, chegue cedo para estacionar o carro nas vagas gratuitas, a agência VIVA FURNAS com lanchas novas, coletes e banheiro é super eficiente na rota de 3 horas passando pelo Vale dos Tucanos, Cascatinha, Canyons, Lagoa Azul e finalizando num quiosque flutuante da Cervejaria Scarpas, cerveja artesanal local. - PEDREIRA LAGOA AZUL, após o Mirante dos Canyons, num offroad difícil de 8km de muita pedra e erosão que vai fazer feliz os amantes do 4x4, você também pode contratar estes passeios offroad.
- CACHOEIRAS do FILÓ, TRILHA DO SOL, SABIÁ, CASCATINHA, DO LOBO DIQUADINHA, DA CAPIVARA e outras, todas distantes e pagas.
- USINA HIDRELÉTRICA DE FURNAS, passeio bacana e com 2 mirantes gratuitos, fica do outro lado da estrada da subida para a Pedreira.

5. ONDE COMER:
A cidade não têm boa gastronomia, têm o SKINA, Rua Cesar Maia, 66, Centro, à la carte, a comida é boa, mas não têm vinho, só cerveja e só têm uma sobremesa;
 em frente a PIZZARIA CAPITÓLIO, ótimas pizzas, têm vinho, cerveja, mas não têm sobremesa; Têm um outro restaurante na outra esquina que serve self-service ao meio-dia e com menu à noite; o aconchegante e bem decorado bar SCARPAS BIER HAUS, Cel. Lourenço Belo, 459, Centro, serve petiscos e a cerveja local; e se quiser comprar delicias para souveniers o CHALÉ DO QUEIJO, MG05P, Km 282 com um pequeno zoológico vale a visita.

6. ALAMBIQUES:
CACHAÇA RODRIGUINHA, Est. Rodriguinha, km 2, desde 1901, totalmente artesanal, com as mais envelhecidas nos barris de carvalho custando mais cara, com direito à degustação; já a CACHAÇA SOSSEGADA, Rua Germ.Teodora de Jesus, mais distante, é maior, com degustação e  e venda de outros produtos.

Capitólio is a small different city in Minas Gerais state, with 9.000 inhabitants isn't  historical like the cities of Tiradentes or Ouro Preto in the same state, and it's so far to be a modern city, but is full of an enchanted green showing to its tourist the world of the beautiful canyons, a unknown nature in Brazil. Distant 281km from the capital Belo Horizonte, 454km from São Paulo, and 638km from Rio de Janeiro, is the main entrance for the Serra da Canastra mountains, distant 86km, which will be the next post in this blog.
Take a not of these tips to enjoy these lagoons, waterfalls, gazebos and canyons:

1. WHEN TO VISIT:
The best season is summer, even rainning, in the other seasons the water is so cold.

2. HOW TO ARRIVE:
By plane arriving in Belo Horizonte, by bus from São Paulo or Belo Horizonte arriving in the city downtown small Bus Terminal, but the best way is by car, the 4x4 vehicles are better, because almost all the access to the places are appropriated for those cars, and the trip will be less expensive.

3. WHERE TO STAY:
This isn't a cheap place to stay, but the city houses some hotels, rustic bed & breakfasts, resorts and many camping sites. The MINASTUR HOTEL has good service, parking lot, WIFI, and excellent breakfast included, and is very well located in downtown, close to the bus terminal, the artificial lagoon and restaurantes.

4. WHAT TO DO:
- ARTIFICIAL LAGOON, strolling there to watch the sunset and browsing the street fair selling handmade local products, also there is a Tourism Center for Informations.
- MIRANTE DOS CANYONS lookout, after the Ponte do Rio Turvo bridge, is an obligation to visit seeing from above the imposing canyons of 20 meters high. Opened 9am to 5pm. Tickets R$20,00 reais.
- BOAT TOUR, leaving from the Ponte do Rio Turvo bridge is the best and unmissable tour in Capitólio, must arrive early to park the car in a free spot. Viva Furnas agency with new boats, life vest and bathroom, is very safe in a 3 hours tour visiting the Tucanos Valley, Cascatinha waterfall, Canyons, Blue Lagoon and finishing in a floating kioske from Scarpas Brewery selling the local craft beer. Take swimming suits, flip flops and towel for the diving stops. The boat leaves daily  at 9am which is the best, and at noon. Make the reservation wirh Edney from Viva Furnas (37)998422907. - PEDREIRA LAGOA AZUL, after the Mirante dos Canyons, turn right in a very hard offroad of 8km full of bumps and stones, which will make happy the 4x4 vehicles lovers.
- The WATERFALLS of FILÓ, TRILHA DO SOL, SABIÁ, CASCATINHA, DO LOBO, DIQUADINHA, DA CAPIVARA among others are distant and paid.
- HIDRELÉTRICA DE FURNAS POWER PLANT Is a very good free tour to watch the power plant from the 2 lookout,
- BALLOON TOUR, if you like an adventure in the air, a DaMata Balonismo (37) 99909593 do this trip before sunrise.

5. WHERE TO EAT:
The city doesn't offer a good gastronomy, in downtown there is the SKINA RESTAURANTE serving a good food from the menu, but no wines only beers and just one option for a dessert; in front of is CAPITOLIO PIZZAS serving a very good pizzas, has wines and beers but no desserts; and in the other corner a good self-service restaurant at lunch, and menu at dinner; the SCARPAS BIER HAUSS bar is very cosy serving appetizers and the local craft beer; and to buy delicious souveniers the CHALÉ DO QUEIJO housing a small zoo, worth a visit.

6. STILL (ALAMBIQUE):
RODRIGUINHA CACHAÇA, since 1901is totally handmade, there you can taste that famous Brazilian drink from the sugar cane aged in oak barrels: the SOSSEGADA CACHAÇA is more distant, but bigger, selling another products and there you can taste different cachaça liquors mixed with fruits.
