Se estiver em Capitólio, Minas Gerais um dos passeios imperdíveis é o trajeto de 86km até a Serra da Canastra, finalizando no Parque Nacional da Serra da Canastra. Anote estas dicas e vá se deslumbrar por este caminho avistando os belos paredões de natureza sem fim:

1. COMO CHEGAR:
O ideal é ir no seu próprio veículo de preferência 4x4, pois algumas partes dos 86km é em estrada de chão e às vezes bem precária, principalmente no verão época de períodos chuvosos, se tiver dúvida quanto ao trajeto pergunte a uma das agências em Capitólio que fazem estes passeios 4x4, a REZENDE no centro entende bem destes offroads e também faz com os seus carros 4x4 cobrando R$90,00 p/pessoa.

2. NO OFFROAD:
Saindo de Capitólio pegue a MG 050, após 22km vai chegar na pequena cidade de PIUMHI com 35.000 habitantes, abrigando 2 belas igrejas, pegue a estrada MG 341 seguindo para as próximas cidadezinhas de SÃO JOSÉ DO BARREIRO com 4.500 habitantes e VARGEM BONITA com 3.000 habitantes, que foi a primeira cidade banhada pelo Rio São Francisco, até chegar a entrada do Parque Nacional da Serra da Canastra.

3. ONDE COMER:
Parada obrigatória é em SÃO JOSÉ DO BARREIRO onde têm o ótimo Restaurante Panela de Ferro, Rua Antenor Alves Vilela, 310, servindo a ótima comida mineira que dispensa qualquer comentário. Buffet livre à R$19,00 com sobremesa incluída.

4. QUEIJO CANASTRA:
Pare em todos os mercadinhos que encontrar por este caminho para degustar e comprar esta iguaria que é Patrimônio Nacional desde 2008, produzida artesanalmente há mais de 200 anos, o Queijo Canastra é encorpado com sabor único e meio picante, oriundo dos pastos nativos, altitude e a água pura desta serra, além dos queijos também têm geléias diversas e café e pão de queijo, tudo produzido nesta abençoada região.

5. PARQUE NACIONAL SERRA DA CANASTRA:
Neste cenário de rara beleza com muitas espécies de fauna e flora da Mata Atlântica e da vegetação do Cerrado, dentro do Parque está o município de SÃO ROQUE DE MINAS, onde está a nascente do Rio São Francisco e também a sua mais requisitada  atração a CACHOEIRA CASCA D'ANTA com 186 metros de queda. O parque abre diariamente das 8h às 16h para compra de ingressos à R$10,00, mas pode ficar no parque até às 18h. Estacionamento na entrada. Somente 10 carros podem estacionar dentro do parque. Chegue cedo pois costuma ficar lotado, principalmente em feriados.

If you are in Capitólio, MG, don't miss to do an unmissable tour by the 86km road to the SERRA DA CANASTRA mountain, which will finish in the astonishing Serra da Canastra National Park.
Take a note of these tips and make an offroad to enjoy this wonderful route watching the beautiful huge walls in an endless nature:

1. HOW TO ARRIVE:
The best option is driving your own vehicle, the 4x4 is better, besides be less expensive some parts of the road are non-paved on a non-good condition, specially in the summer considered a raining season, if you have doubts about the route asked in one of the agencies for 4x4 tours located in Capitólio's downtown, REZENDE agency is very good in those offroads, doing also with their cars for R$90,00 Reais/person.

2. ON THE OFFROAD:
From Capitólio take the MG 050, after 22km you'll arrive in the small city of PIUMHI with 35.000 inhabitants housing 2 beautiful churches, than take the MG 341 to the next little cities of SÃO JOSÉ DO BARREIRO, 4.500 inhabitants, and VARGEM BONITA, 3.000 inhabitants, which was the first city washed by the São Francisco river and go up to the Serra da Canastra National Park.

3. WHERE TO MAKE A STOP TO EAT:
An obligation to stop to have a meal is in the excellent PANELA DE FERRO restaurant, 310, Antenor Alves Vilela Street, SÃO JOSÉ DO BARREIRO, serving a wonderful "mineira" food.  Buffet self-service with a dessert included for R$19,00 Reais.

4. CANASTRA CHEESE:
Stop in all of the little markets that you'll find on the road to try and buy this delicacy considered a Braziliam National Patrimony since 2008, a full bodied and spicy handmade cheese produced for more than 200 years with the native pastures, altitude and pure waters from this mountain, besides the Canastra Cheese they also sell different flavours jams, coffee and cheese bread, everything from there.

5. SERRA DA CANASTRA NATIONAL PARK:
In this rare beautiful scenery full of many species of fauna and flora from the Atlantic Forest and Cerrado vegetation, where inside of the park is the SÃO ROQUE DE MINAS county, the source of the São Francisco river, and also the CACHOEIRA CASCA D'ANTA the most visited 186 meters high waterfall. The park opens daily from 8am to 4pm to buy the R$10,00 Reais tickets at the entrance, but you can stay in the park until 6pm. Free parking lot at the entrance, and also inside the park,  but just for 10 vehicles. Arrive early specially on the holidays.
